I applied to the school, back when I started it was easier to get in. My grades were not the best in high school, and neither was my SAT score, and they have a program that helps get kids into college who would not be able to based on their grades. The kids are put on probationary status for the summer and need to earn a certain gpa (I think like a 3.0 at the time) in order to be admitted for the fall. The university will work with students to help get them in, but just be warned USF is raising their standards for admissions and it is now getting difficult to get into.

USF basically accepts anyone. The academics at usf are ok at best. I have come across many professors that dont know what their talking about. In fact, I would bet that I know more about the particular course then they do.

I got into USF based on myApr 17 2005English
I got into USF based on my GPA for general coursework completed at SPC (anyone with an A.A. from a Florida junior college can be granted admission to a public Florida university, but I didn't have mine yet when I applied and was accepted). If you're not sure if your high school GPA is high enough to get you in, you might want to try a semester or three at a junior college--if you get consistently high grades there, your chances of getting into USF are likely to improve drastically, and if you go ahead and finish the A.A. you're a shoo-in (and from what I've heard, you'd probably be better off getting your general coursework done at a junior college anyway).
